Ladder Game (Amidakuji) – Random Ladder Draw

Enter players and prizes, then follow each path down the ladder to see who gets what.

The ladder game — called amidakuji in Japan and sadari-tagi in Korea — is a classic way to hand out prizes or chores. Write the players at the top and the outcomes at the bottom, and a random ladder connects each person to exactly one result.

Keep the results covered and reveal them one by one for suspense, or show everyone at once. The ladder is generated from a secure random seed, so a share link reopens exactly the same ladder.

How to use

  1. List the players, one per line (2 to 12).
  2. List the outcomes in the same number; missing ones are filled with “Nothing”.
  3. Press Make a ladder. Leave “Hide prizes” on for a reveal.
  4. Tap each name to follow its path, or press Reveal all. Save the ladder as an image if you like.

Why use Deftivo

Always one-to-one

A ladder never lets two players land on the same result, so every outcome is used exactly once.

Suspense

Prizes stay hidden until each path is traced, line by line.

Shareable

Send a link and everyone sees the same ladder, so nobody can claim it was redrawn.

Frequently asked questions

Is the ladder fair?

Yes. Rungs are placed at random from a secure seed, and every column connects to exactly one result.

Can I redraw the ladder?

Press Make a ladder again for a new random ladder with the same names.

Why is the limit 12 players?

Beyond that the paths become hard to follow on a phone. For bigger groups use the wheel or random picker.
