Lecture slides, long reports and handouts often waste paper when every page gets a sheet of its own. This tool puts several pages side by side on one sheet — 2, 4, 6, 8 or 9 at a time — and saves the result as a new PDF you can print or share.

Pick the paper (A4, Letter or the size of the original), let the orientation be chosen for you or set it yourself, and decide whether pages run left to right or top to bottom. Margins, the gap between pages and a thin border are all adjustable, and the number of sheets is shown before you save.

    How to use

    1. Select or drop one PDF file.
    2. Choose how many pages go on each sheet: 2, 4, 6, 8 or 9.
    3. Pick the paper, the orientation (Auto, Portrait or Landscape) and the order, then adjust the margin, gap and border if you like.
    4. Check the sheet count, press Make N-up PDF and download the file.

    Why use Deftivo

    Sharp, selectable text

Each page is placed as it is rather than turned into a picture, so text stays crisp at any zoom and can still be selected and searched.

    Sideways pages come out right

Pages that were saved rotated are turned the way you see them in a PDF reader before they are placed on the sheet.

    No upload

The PDF is read and rebuilt inside your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.

    What Auto orientation does

Auto picks the orientation in which the pages come out largest. For ordinary portrait pages that means landscape for 2, 6 and 8 per sheet, and portrait for 4 and 9 per sheet. You can always override it.

Links, form fields and comments are not carried over to the new PDF — only what is printed on each page.

    Frequently asked questions

How many sheets will I get?

The page count divided by the pages per sheet, rounded up. For example, 10 pages at 4 per sheet gives 3 sheets; the last sheet simply has empty spaces.

    Does it lower the quality?

No. Pages are scaled down to fit, but their content is not re-rendered or compressed, so text and vector graphics stay sharp.

Can I change the order to top to bottom?

Yes. Choose “Top → bottom, then across” under Order to fill each column first.

    What about password-protected PDFs?

Remove the password in a PDF reader first. Encrypted PDFs cannot be read without it.
