Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate a discount?
Sale price = original × (1 − discount ÷ 100). For 25% off 80, that is 80 × 0.75 = 60.
Why are two discounts less than their sum?
The second percentage is taken from the reduced price. 100 − 20% = 80, then 80 − 10% = 72, so the real discount is 28%.
How do I find the discount percentage?
(Original − sale price) ÷ original × 100.
